I was told to relocate or resign. My employer announced some people would be relocating to another site and I was told that I would be staying where I was. However, three weeks ago I was told to plan my route as we'd be moving offices. My options were relocate or resign. I was then put under pressure to make a decision there and then. Reluctantly I resigned as I couldn't commit to the extra distance due to family commitments. No redundancy was offered and I am now out of work. Is there anything I can do?
Potentially you may be able to claim for redundancy if your new proposed place of work was beyond reasonable commuting distance and you did not have a mobility clause in your contract. Bear in mind if you left more than three months ago you are out of time for a claim.
