I need to make a member of staff redundant, how can I make sure I am doing this legally and correctly?

I have two members of staff. Business is not coming through so I need to make one member of staff redundant. She has been employed since May 2007. I need to make sure that I take the correct legal position and use the correct documentation as do not want to leave her on the premises once notice has been given.

The employee who joined you in May 2007 has full protection from unfair dismissal so you need to be careful.

We can provide you with a legally sound redundancy selection process, together with guidance on the consultation process you have to follow, to get the result you are looking to achieve.

If you wish to take this up we offer this service for just £100 plus VAT, including telephone support.

Please reply to this email if you wish to use this service.
